Chamberlain announces the opening of the Chamberlain Training Academy in Tucson, Ariz.  The new academy offers comprehensive training for beginners and advanced technicians on all of Chamberlain’s LiftMaster, Elite and Sentex product lines.

The Chamberlain Training Academy’s mission is to enrich product knowledge and applications, simplify and speed up installations, reduce callbacks, and provide quick and effective troubleshooting techniques for Chamberlain’s complete line of residential and commercial door and gate operators.

"The Chamberlain Training Academy's mission is to support our customers through enhanced, accelerated training for their installers and technicians by showing them how to do the job right, every time,” said Bob Markwart, executive vice president, sales and marketing. “We’re committed to giving our customers all the knowledge they need to stay ahead in the garage door opener, access control and gate operator systems industry.”

Three experienced and knowledgeable instructors with over 30 years of industry experience teach the academy’s classes. Class sizes are limited to 12 students to ensure that everyone receives personalized, hands-on instruction. The classes are taught with a focus on residential and commercial applications to help customers learn about opportunities in both areas.

Installers can attend full training sessions or customize class schedules to choose specific classes that best fit their needs. Courses will be continually updated to include new products, techniques and technology as they reach the market.

Academy students will be provided with necessary class materials upon arrival. Upon successful course completion, students receive a certificate of completion.

The academy monitors student progress utilizing a 3-step evaluation process. First, every supervisor who sends an employee to the academy will receive a written evaluation of the student’s ability. One month after the course completion, supervisors will be asked to evaluate their employee’s performance. The training academy manager will follow up again six months after course completion to receive additional feedback on how the academy can best serve its customers and alumni.

The Chamberlain Training Academy is currently offering four-day telephone entry systems training courses, three-day gate operator training courses and two-day software training courses. Beginning in 2006, the academy will offer courses on garage door openers, access control products and commercial door operators.

All Chamberlain Training Academy students will receive a preferred rate at a nearby AmeriSuites hotel. AmeriSuites will provide complimentary transportation to and from the Academy each day, making a rental car purely optional. Room rates and reservations can be made by calling AmeriSuites at 800-833-1516. Contact Chamberlain for the discount code to access the preferred rate.

Interested companies can sign up today by calling 1-877-TRAIN50 (877-872-4650). The academy can also be reached by e-mail at trainingacademy@chamberlain.com or by fax, 520-239-0196. More information about the academy and its courses is available at http://training.chamberlain.com.
