The Chamberlain Group, Inc., the single source provider for secure, convenient, quality and stylish products for every access point, introduces the new LiftMaster Alternate Power System. Low-voltage and UL-approved, the new LiftMaster Alternate Power System (580LM) serves as a permanent solution to power the side-mounted LiftMaster Residential Jackshaft Opener (Model 3800).
For an increasing number of homeowners, the garage is now serving as an additional functional space within the home. This trend has led to new and unique garage designs with very low, cathedral or obstructed ceilings which are being adopted by builders and homeowners, as they add depth and style to this newfound functional space. Since many of these applications are not compatible with traditional ceiling mounted garage door openers, Chamberlain introduced the side-mounted LiftMaster Residential Jackshaft Opener in early 2006.
"Traditionally, electricity is supplied on the garage ceiling to power a garage door opener. If an electrical outlet is not present within six feet of the garage door opener's location, a homeowner would have to hire an electrician to run power to the Model 3800 installation area, which can be both inconvenient and costly. The new LiftMaster Alternate Power System solves the issue," said Dan Nixa, director of marketing, Chamberlain Professional Products.
This innovative system provides homeowners with a low cost, UL-approved solution to conveniently provide power. Designed to be easily installed by professional dealers, the system is specifically designed for use with the LiftMaster Model 3800. Compatible with the optional EverCharge® Standby Power System (475LM), this new power system reliably operates the garage door opener during power outages.
