In a major industry move, Grifco Precision Products, the largest manufacturer of industrial door operators in Australia and New Zealand, has been acquired by The Chamberlain Group, Inc., headquartered in Elmhurst, Ill. The announcement was made by Chamberlain’s CEO, J. David Rolls. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Chamberlain is the world’s largest manufacturer of residential garage door openers, commercial door operators, residential and commercial gate openers and related access control products.
Grifco, located in West Gosford Australia, has been family-owned since 1914. The company has grown significantly in recent years under the direction of brothers Scott and Sean Nicholson to become the leading brand in Australia for industrial door operator products. The Nicholson’s will continue to manage the business under Chamberlain’s new ownership.
According to Rolls, the acquisition of Grifco broadens Chamberlain’s global position in industrial products and markets. “Grifco has built a stellar reputation as a company dedicated to providing its customers with superior safety, quality, performance and service,” Rolls said. “With Chamberlain’s worldwide resources and distribution, we see opportunities to grow Grifco’s export business while helping to improve its business in Australia as well.”
“This new co-operation of two market leaders will build a strong foundation for future success through innovation and manufacturing expertise,” said Scott Nicholson. “With our strong market share in our region, this transaction will provide us the resources necessary to expand outside of Australia, while complimenting local sales with the addition of proven Chamberlain products,” he added.
The Chamberlain Group, Inc. manufactures and markets residential garage door openers, commercial door operators, residential and commercial gate operators, telephone entry systems and related access control products. |
